I’m at the south of North End Road. Venture up north and you end up with estates that loom either side of you.
North End Road is a road of markets. The stalls come and then they go, depending on the day, depending on the season. They spill out on the road, making it a messy sort of street that clogs easily with traffic, pedestrians and squashed fruit. This was the road I first drove down when I arrived in London, and I thought it looked nothing like what London should look like. I’ve since learned that this is London in all its flavours. Diversity is what makes London, well London.
