Fill me with a gyros. Pitta, shaved meat, onion, tomato, fries, mustard and sauce and it’s a wrap. Literally. This is a Greek delight, a cheap eat. Two Euros and it can be had from any Greek eating place which is on any Greek corner of every Greek street. While in Greece, I did as the Greeks do. Never before had I found that combination of flavours and foods appealing, until Thessaloniki, where sweat was like another layer of clothing I had on. Actually before Greece, I’d felt sick at the thought of all that mashed into pitta. What on earth happened while I was in Greece, doing as the Greeks do? Is that assimilation for you?!
